The offbeat 27th Surajkund Crafts Festival has already passing through its hours. This nonstop celebration will last till 15th of February from the beginning of the month, in Faridabad, the city of Haryana; where traditional craftsman from the world will show their talents and spell bound its visitors from all round.
Basically, Surajkund is an old reservoir of Faridabad district, which was constructed in semi-circular form in the backdrop of Aravalli hills so as to meet the water shortage in Delhi. The renowned Sun temple plays a very crucial role during this festival and surveillance the event throughout the day. Artists, craftsmen, weavers, painters and sculptors from all over the world will sit in their 735 respective cultural huts spread over 40 acre land and will show their skills in the fair. The lip-smacking food stalls from all states of the participating nations, folk dances and cultural events will keep entertaining you throughout the days. Not only SAARC countries will participate in this international Surajkund Craft festival, but also participation of 20 other foreign countries including South Asian countries, Eurasian countries and African countries also boost up its charm.
There are many transportation services available to Surajkund. Tourists can take cabs, busses or even metro service; Badarpur is the nearest metro station; from there it takes 10-15 minutes to reach the place if traffic not comes on your way.
